The Nevada Shade Tree Council is a nonprofit 501(c)3
organization of concerned citizens from throughout the state.
We serve as an advisory committee to the State Forester’s
"Urban and Community Forestry Program." Our common goal is to
improve community forests and green spaces. The Council guides
a statewide program that provides technical and financial
assistance to communities and volunteer groups.

A columnar oak was planted in honor of the late Damon Ohlerking at the UNLV campus where he taught.

The tree was funded by the Cleaner Air Tree by Tree Grant.

Membership is open to individuals, homeowners’ associations,
shade tree commissions, beautification committees, private
organizations, school groups and businesses that want to plant
and improve the health of trees in their communities. By
joining the Council, you can express your concerns and exert
influence on urban community forestry issues.
